Eventhough you write this from the employer perspective, it's a useful post for those people who are looking for their "dream job".

I don't thinkk a dream job is one, specific position or a specific type of work. Lately I'be been thinking that a dream job is being able to be your true best self at an employer who helps you to be that. And that can happen a lot of places.

In that respect, this post is a good outline for finding a dream job. People can use this post as a guide for the type of employer to look for, because those employers are likely to have those dream jobs.

P.S. Happy first week at your new job :)

Dear Jason,

I'd like to add that it is important to make talent feel valued in the recruitment process as well. Recently I had a series of onsite interviews at Google, in which the first 3 interviewers were extremely friendly and positive about my candidacy, but the fourth came across as hostile from the getgo. When he subsequently blocked my application (my recruiter told me that the debate raged for a record 2 hours, and it therefore wouldn't get past the executive level no matter what) I was left with the unpleasant impression that anyone can abuse the hiring process at Google if it suits them. So, while I am still enthusiastic about working for Google (it helps that all the rest of the interviewers were so positive towards me) I am now making much more of an effort to look elsewhere.
